Postini email filtering service is now available. It is up and working.
If you would like us to activate Postini email filtering for your GCPowerNet email address
please send an email request to us at this address:
Please include your current GCPower email address and your current email password in the email.
Once your Postini filtering is activated, you will receive an email containing a password and a link to your Postini control panel.
Click on the link and once you are at the Postini site, enter the password in the email exactly as it is written. (My password was a difficult one so I used the CUT and PASTE and
COPY feature in Windows to copy it into the password box.)
Once you have logged in, you wil be asked to create your own password, one that you can
remember. READ the on-line instructions about creating your password . You have to follow a certain format for password security purposes.
Your Postini control panel password is a separate password from your Grant County
PowerNet email password.
Once you have logged in to Postini and configured it the way you want it, you will not have to go back to it unless you need to add someone to a whitelist or strengthen or ease
the settings in the future. It just sits there and works for you.
After creating your Postini password, continue into the Postini site and look around. Postini also has built-in anti-virus scanning
features so it cleans your mail of viruses before it comes to you.
You can adjust the strength settings of your SPAM filtering and you can create a
"whitelist" for addresses and domain names you do not want filtered. There is a junk mail listing where your filtered mail is captured and stored until you delete it ot until it
goes through the 14 day Postini junkmail hold and is deleted.
Those of us who have subscribed and are now
using Postini are finding that it is a very good product and does a very good job of cleaning things up for us.
